The EASI Query Advanced mode enables more complex queries to be created by adding variables using Boolean logic (AND, OR, NOT) to bring together several search criteria. The user chooses a field to be searched, the operator to be used, and the values necessary to fulfill the query, adding variables as needed to represent a complex relationship between values.
Some Syntax Hints:
When entering text values, use quotes around the value
Text searches are case sensitive
City names are stored as CITYNAME, ST
Use parentheses in complex expressions to ensure proper grouping order
To compare two fields such as all records where Male Population is less than Female Population, simply select the first field name, the operator, anad the second field name
Pressing OK activates the query.
There are two options other than to create a query from EASI Query Advanced:
Basic Query moves to the basic query mode
Reset Query erases the current query and starts again
