What Is an EASI® Quick Report?

Among its offerings, the EASI® Quick Report is the fastest and most efficient way to see information about a single geography. Available without a subscription and for an affordable price, the Quick Report offers data for three periods in a single report (2020, 2023, and a five-year forecast.)

The Quick Report types

EASI offers Quick Reports in three levels of detail: Executive, Professional, and Advanced. Each contains data for three periods (2020, 2023, and a five-year forecast) but displays differing variable sets. 

The Executive Quick Report is an easy-to-read summary report that contains 40 basic variables like Population By Year, General Household Characteristics, and overall Consumer Expenditures. 

The Professional Quick Report is more comprehensive than the Executive. It contains over 350 variables, including Family Characteristics, detailed Age Range data, and Housing Characteristics (structure types, vacancy rates, and rent/mortgage amount.

The Advanced Quick Report is the most in-depth Quick Report available, containing over 1,400 variables, such as Income Characteristics, Detailed Employment Characteristics, and Detailed Family Characteristics. 

How data is organized in the Quick Reports

The reports outline various data groupings for three periods (2020, 2023, and a five-year forecast.) The 2020 and 2023 data comes from the U.S. Census Bureau and other standardized data sources. EASI generates the forecast and growth numbers based on historical data and our proprietary data analysis team.

Each report level is grouped roughly the same way, with the additional variables appearing as appropriate in their section. You’ll find groupings outlining:

  • Executive: General Housing, Population by Race, Retail Sales, and Employment by Place of Business.
  • Professional: Detailed Family data (Married Families and Other Families Characteristics,) Population Age breakdowns by age range, and Detailed Household data (Households by Ethnicity, Age of Head, Size, and Vehicles.) 
  • Advanced: Advanced Population data (by Race, Sex, and Country of Origin,) and Non-Family Characteristics (Size, Age, and Income) and Household breakdowns by Age and Income.

Using Quick Reports to make decisions

  • Professional: 
    • Age Characteristics: Overall Age Ranges (from 0 to 5 years to 85 years and older) and Median Age by Race and Ethnicity
    • Household Characteristics: By Age of Head of Household, Size and Vehicles (how many vehicles are owned by the household) 
  • Advanced: 
    • Household by Age of Head and Income range
    • Housing Unit Characteristics: Occupancy type, Vacancy rates, and Rent or Mortgage rates
    • Population by Race, Sex, and Age
